Leading the way with The Ark

Processing plastic waste in a compact, containerized unit.
Currently in Vancouver. Deployable across a wide range of locations.

Welcome aboard

The Ark is Denovia’s containerized pilot unit in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Developed in collaboration with Tymac Launch Services, it houses a PL-1000 machine that processes marine waste collected from major cruise lines and other marine vessels. It also serves as a site for pilot depolymerization testing using sample materials from our partners.

Salvaging marine plastic waste

Ever wondered where the plastic waste from your cruise vacation goes? If your cruise calls at the Port of Vancouver, that waste is likely handled by Tymac.

Denovia partners with Tymac to depolymerize cruise ship plastic waste and other marine plastics, such as mooring ropes, converting much of the feedstock into monomers. The pilot has been a major success and we’re looking to expand our partnership.

Why design

The Ark is Denovia’s prototype for an easily deployable unit that brings plastic recycling to more locations.

Facility buildout and waste logistics have long been barriers to recycling. By making deployment fast, straightforward and relatively low-cost at existing sites such as hotels and waste management facilities, or even in remote areas, Denovia aims to make recycling more accessible and increase recycling rates.

We’re continually refining the design to find the most practical format for wider deployment.Note: The image is a design concept only

Scaling up in

To meet the strong demand for depolymerization capacity, we are scaling up our Vancouver facility to process more plastic waste beyond marine waste. We’re currently building new machinery and liaising with feedstock partners who will be sending us more plastic waste to depolymerize.

A strategic gateway

The Port of Vancouver is one of North America’s largest ports. Its Pacific Coast location connects North America and Asia, while its proximity to the U.S. border provides access to markets on both sides. These connections make it a strategic base for receiving plastic waste and shipping depolymerization outputs.
